The tools that artists use daily are grounding, performance etiquette (relational structure), movement elements, sequencing, and employing focus strategies.  Participants in expressive arts classes work in small group environments and learn relaxation methods and how to develop the strength to communicate and overcome obstacles. Perceptions will be challenged and participants discover how to remain focused on their team and the artistic material being developed as a troupe.

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.

What If You Believed In Yourself?

Life is going along and it’s all smooth sailing.  Suddenly we catch the signs that it’s time to put on our safety gear. Setbacks are one thing, but when we realize a crashlanding may be coming we brace ourselves. The Covid-19 stay-at-home order asked us to let go of our pre-virus identity, prepare a roadmap to achieve our goals, and it provided time for us to validate our skills and relationships.  However, not everyone knew how to do this! There are so many hurt and wounded children, women, and men who were injured in the crashlanding. The new frontier is one with cognitive agility and distinct new methods of survival.  As we say goodbye to our old habits, patterns, and lifestyles and make space to discover the future, Arts + More is providing expressive dance theatre and arts courses. We know that space must be created for the wounded to come out of the safety position they braced themselves in. This space must be safe and provide the safety tools and gear for understanding stages of change and healing.
